National Council on Crime & Delinquency

NCCD promotes just and equitable social systems for individuals, families, and communities through research, public policy, and practice.

Who We Are

In 1907, NCCD was founded to study, expand, and standardize the newly created juvenile justice system. Since then, NCCD’s focus and expertise have widened to the fields of criminal justice, child welfare, adult protective services, and education. NCCD’s activities are broad. We conduct research and data analyses that help jurisdictions reform their policies and services. We develop and support web applications that assist caseworkers and agencies. We provide training and technical assistance to service providers to help them make consistent, equitable, and just decisions that lead to beneficial actions for vulnerable individuals.

Where We Work

NCCD helps hundreds of social service agencies and organizations across the United States and internationally in Australia, Bermuda, Canada, Singapore, and Taiwan.

Why We’re Here

NCCD works across the world in these separate but interrelated systems because we believe—and have the data to back it up!—that we all benefit when the most vulnerable among us receive services that are consistent, evidence-based, and empathetic.
